Wear-and-tear over time or overuse can result in:

• Osteoarthritis, which is a wearing down of the cartilage surface that covers the bones where they meet to make a joint
      • This is the most common form of arthritis (joint inflammation)
•Tear of the menisci (cartilages of the knee) which function as shock absorbers between the bones
      • medial and lateral menisci
• Stress fracture of the bone
      • Patella, tibia and femur bones
• Inflammation of the tendons (tendonitis) that connect the muscles to the bones or inflammation of the associated bursa sacs (bursitis)
      • Patella, quadriceps and hamstring tendonitis
      • Pre-patella, pes and popliteal bursitis
• Inflamation of the muscles (myositis)
      • Quadriceps, hamstring and gastrocnemius myositis
• These can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, catching, grinding, popping, locking, fatigue, weakness, instability, deformity and disordered gait
