Arthroscopy:

• A slender (pencil-sized) camera is introduced into the joint through a very small incision (portal)
to visualize the inside of the joint
• Other slender tools are used to manipulate and repair the tissues inside the knee
• Outpatient surgery
• Repair or clean-up torn menisci
• Repair or clean-up roughened cartilage surfaces (arthritis) or associated loose bodies
      • only if the arthritis is mild
      • often in conjunction with treatment of meniscal tears
      • biologic procedures used to repair smaller pot-hole-like defects in the cartilage surface.
• Repair/reconstruct torn ligaments (ACL/PCL/MCL/LCL)
• Clean-up scar tissue
• Clear infections without associated hardware
